Indian cricket fans will be getting ready for the highly anticipated series, India’s tour of Australia in 2020-21, which will include three One-Day Internationals (ODIs), as many Twenty Twenty Internationals (T20Is), and four Tests played for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The test series will take place soon. The cities of Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane would each play host to one of the games.

The most recent trip to Australia was very fruitful for India in a variety of different ways. They were the first Asian team to ever win in Australia against Australia in the longer version of the match, and they did so with a score of 2-1. The match was played in Australia. Although the team captained by Virat Kohli would like to come out on top, certain members of that team, including David Warner, Steve Smith, and Marnus Labuschagne, would work hard to prevent the opposition from achieving their objective.

During their time on tour and via icc bowling and icc batting ranking, India’s attack has been growing better, and the team’s goal for this series is to maintain that level of success.

The following five Indian bowlers are tied for first place in terms of the most wickets taken against Australia in test matches.

  • Zaheer Khan

People frequently think that Zaheer Khan, who is considered to be one of India’s top bowlers, is the one responsible for the use of the term “hiding the ball.” As the only left-arm bowler from India to have taken 300 or more wickets in Tests, he was an essential member of the Indian side during his whole career. He retired after the 2011 season.

In 19 Tests, Zaheer took 61 Australian wickets. His match in Bangalore in 2008 was one of the most memorable. He got rid of the top three batters for the other team (Matthew Hayden, Mike Hussey, and Michael Clarke) and then got rid of Brett Lee and Mitchell Johnson to clean up the tail for a first innings score of 5/91. The score was tied when the last buzzer went off.

  • 4. Ravichandran Ashwin

Since playing in his debut Test match in 2011, the cricketer from Tamil Nadu has established himself as one of the most dependable members of Virat Kohli’s side. The only current cricket player who has a legitimate shot at taking the most wickets for India versus Australia is Ashwin.

To this point, he has taken 77 wickets throughout 15 games, which puts his average wicket total at slightly over 31. His highest score in an innings is 7/103, which he earned in the match against Australia at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The match was played in Chennai. Additionally, the off-spinner has collected five 5-wicket hauls in his career.

During the 2018–19 Australian leg of his tour, Ashwin put on a performance that will be talked about for a long time to come. In Adelaide, he finished with scores of 3/57 in the first innings and 3/92 in the second innings, which allowed him to win the game. Because Ashwin wants to maintain possession of the Border-Gavaskar trophy, it is likely that he will want to perform just as well as he did in the last Border-Gavaskar series.

  • Kapil Dev

Kapil Dev is without a doubt the best Indian all-rounder who ever played red-ball cricket. His unique bowling motion made him a hero in India even after he stopped playing the gentleman’s game.

Kapil Dev, who was sometimes called the “Haryana Hurricane,” played in 131 Tests and finished with 434 wickets. In the 20 Tests he played against the Kangaroos, he averaged 25.35 wickets per game. In the draw at Adelaide Oval in 1985–86, he had his best stats. He took 8 wickets for 106 runs, and Allan Border’s team could only score 381 runs in their first innings. A bowler from India has never done so well in Australia, and his game is one of the best ever.

Before he retired against New Zealand in 1994, he had taken more wickets in Tests than any other Indian pacer.

  • Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan is the only Indian bowler in history to have taken more than 400 wickets in a longer version of the game as of right now. The cricketer from Punjab helped the Indian team beat Steve Waugh’s strong Australian team in a home series in 2000-2001. He took out 417 players over the course of 103 Tests. In the second Test at Eden Gardens, the Indians beat the visitors by 171 runs. This was mostly because of his 7/123 and 6/73, which won the match. He made it almost impossible for the other team to score, taking 32 wickets in three Tests. The off-spinner took 95 wickets in 18 Tests against Australia.

  • Anil Kumble

He has taken more than 600 wickets in Test cricket, making him India’s top wicket-taker of all time. Kumble is the only bowler from India and the second bowler overall to have taken 10 wickets in one innings of the longer version of the game. Many people think he is one of the best players from the subcontinent who can win games. The former cricket player from Karnataka had a successful international career that lasted almost 20 years. He played in 132 Tests and took 619 wickets, averaging just under 30 per game. He also had 35 five-wicket hauls and 8 ten-wicket hauls in a single game.

Kumble took 111 wickets against the Australians, with an average of 30.32. He had two five-fors and ten five-fors in an innings. During India’s 2003-04 tour of Australia, the leggie did very well. He was the tour’s top wicket-taker, with a total of 24 scalps and a best of 8/141 in the first innings of the last match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney.
